PortRyde Indoor Cycling Studio

PortRyde was a cycling studio located in downtown Portsmouth, NH, committed to promoting a healthy, positive, and active lifestyle. Our community of students encouraged one another to achieve their fitness aspirations.

We launched in September 2014 with 12 bikes and expanded from 4 to 12 instructors, offering up to 22 weekly classes. Throughout our year in operation, our membership grew to over 250 students. Unfortunately, in December 2015, we had to close our doors as the studio space was sold, necessitating the search for a new location. Given this circumstance, I decided to sell the equipment.

As the founder, my responsibilities encompassed hiring and training instructors, managing our online schedule and presence, handling marketing and advertising, organizing events, budgeting, overseeing space logistics, maintaining equipment, and managing day-to-day operations such as addressing student inquiries, maintaining cleanliness, and updating the website.

Following the closure of the indoor cycling studio, I transitioned to teaching spin classes at a nearby gym. I resumed teaching in 2016 and currently lead one class per week, occasionally hosting pop-up sessions. My classes focus on HIIT (high-intensity interval training), emphasizing heart rate spikes, active recovery periods, and repetition until the conclusion of the session.
